Interactive Web Site
Competencies Satisfied
#2. Use cycles of reasoning as tools for problem solving (Reflective Practice): Deciding how to approach the tutorial, designing the look and objectives, as well as determining the assessment – all were part of a constantly changing process for me. I had do decide what worked and what failed. I hope to garner some user feedback to judge the effectiveness of the tutorial design, another part of the cycle of reasoning.
#5 / #6. Planning and Analysis/Design and Analysis: This was a SIGNIFICANT portion of this project. Despite the fact that I did a lot of preliminary work when designing the content of this site, I certainly could have done more. It’s important to be able to combine the technical and instructional sides of the design process, so you do not find yourself being done with one and doing the other on the fly.
#10. Develop products and resources to support learning and performance: This project uses interactive media and online delivery to reach a broad range of learners. The tutorial itself serves as a reference document for learners to refer back to whenever they require additional information on the subject.
#11 / #12. Evaluation and Assessment: This competency is dealt with implicitly with this project. However, since there have not been a large number of users on the site from whom I can gain feedback, I will have to wait before I can evaluate the success or failure of the educational aspects of the tutorial.
